Bring the Troops Home Now! As
revolutionaries we feel that is our obligation to make opposition to war our
primary focus when “our” government invades another country. We are for the full and immediate
withdrawal of all foreign troops from Iraq and Afghanistan. We refuse to concede any of our civil
liberties in the so-called “war on terror” and we oppose any all forms of
anti-Arab and anti-Muslim discrimination and prejudice.
We believe that is
only through the mobilization of working people into the streets through
mass, peaceful demonstrations that we’ll be able to put real pressure on
the powers that be to end this war.
We reject reliance on any capitalist politicians.
We seek to build a
broad united front of all activists and working people opposed to this
war. In particular our members are
active in building the Northland Anti-War Coalition. If you would like to get involved in the
local anti-war movement, check out the Northland Anti-War Coalition’s website, or sign up for
NAWC’s email
announcement list.
Defend the
Right to Same-Sex Marriage! This November there will be a
ballot referendum in Wisconsin on whether or not to pass an amendment to
the state constitution banning same-sex marriage. We are wholly and uncompromisingly opposed to this proposed
amendment, and any attempt to restrict civil liberties.
We believe that adults should
be able to enter into consensual relationship that they want, and that the
state should in no way extend certain rights to some and not to
others. We all have are entitled to
the same democratic rights!
We call on all working people
to vote “NO!” in November! To get
involved in the fight against the same-sex marriage ban get involved with Action Wisconsin.
Stop the
Arrowhead-Weston Transmission Line!: In the
worldwide movement for social justice, many young people are attracted by
the ideas of anarchism - even if they don’t call themselves anarchists.
Anarchists seem to stand for the same thing we Marxists do - a classless
society, a self-organized and self-managed society - what we often sum up
with the phrase ‘workers’ power’. Like us, many anarchists say they stand
for revolution. No bosses, no police, social equality, no rich and no
nuclear bombs. People not profit. continued
Free Mumia
Abu-Jamal! Mumia is a political prisoner
falsely imprisoned for the 1981 murder of a Philadelphia police
officer. His real crime was being
an articulate and outspoken opponent of racism and injustice. Mumia’s legal case is currently at a
critical juncture. Court decisions
expected to come down this year will either result in Mumia winning a new
trial, or having a new death warrant signed.
We call for all supporters of
civil liberties and opponents of racism, police brutality and the death
penalty to rally to Mumia’s defense and demand a new trial.
To find out more about Mumia’s
case you can check out the website
of the Mobilization to Free Mumia Abu-Jamal.
Defend a Woman’s Right to Choose! Opponents
of women’s rights in South Dakota have succeeded in getting that state’s
legislature to pass a bill outlawing abortion in that state. Supporters of a woman’s right to choose
though have succeeded in getting a getting a referendum on this anti-choice
law on the November South Dakota ballot.
We urge all supporters of
women’s rights to vote against this law, and to defend South Dakotan women’s
right to choose.
To find out more about this
important fight, and to get involved, check out the South Dakota Campaign for Healthy Families.
